Foster Counselors provide support and guidance to BHARS foster caregivers throughout the foster process.
Responsibilities include:
helping match animals with appropriate foster homes
assisting caregivers with questions or concerns
helping troubleshoot behavioural or care challenges
communicating important animal information
ensuring foster caregivers know where to turn when they need assistance
The Foster Counselor acts as an advocate for both the foster caregiver and the animal and helps ensure foster homes feel supported rather than isolated.
